Generally most of the top apps on Android Store have rating of 4+. On a 5 star scale I give Quiztones a Yes. Overall rating of Quiztones Ear Training for EQ is 3,6. I think Quiztones could perhaps even be used in quickly testing out some new monitors or headphones. The app is robust, inexpensive, and does exactly what it set out to do with no fuss. The EQ graph is usually low freq to the left and high freq to the right. However they are controlling the same thing in the end. This means that you can often adjust the settings in a couple of different places. Plus, you can easily open your memos in GarageBand or Logic Pro X. Most EQ plugins have a combination of knobs and graphs for managing the EQ curve. You can tag and rate your ideas and add lyrics and notes. It automatically detects the tempo, rhythmic feel, and chords you play. Personally I think Quiztones is a must-buy, especially on iOS. Music Memos is the fastest and easiest way to capture and organize your musical ideas. To the credit of the app I was not discouraged, rather the ease of use and presentation are certainly encouraging. With incredible cultural and linguistic variety, Vanuatu routinely scores extraordinarily well on the happy planet index, and the nation is pleased with its repute one of the happiest places on earth. I found the gain quizzes pretty easy but once I tried the sine wave and frequency gain tests I was put in my place. The app is useful for developing your frequency recognition ability. I think this app is a fantastic little resource especially for someone like me who did not get formal training in anything electronic in college. QuizTones EQ Ear Training (4.99 and 14.99) QuizTones is a professional software app that producers, audio engineers, and musicians use to train their ears to listen more accurately. This screenshot is from the Audiofile Engineering website. The interface is very simple and understandable, this is perhaps due to the app also being available on iOS. In essence you listen to sine waves and guess the frequency, listen to loops and guess the gain, or listen to loops and guess the frequency gain. Quiztones uses tones and frequency-altered noise and musical loops (including source material from your own music library) to train your ears and help develop more acute listening and frequency recognition skills. Quiztones is a frequency ear trainer for amateur and professional audio engineers, producers, and musicians. A bit of background on the app from the Audiofile Engineering site: I recently sat down and played with the OS X version of Quiztones the other day and had a blast.
